- The Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology (SWITCH) is Asia's benchmark exhibition for innovation, organized by Enterprise Singapore, bringing together entrepreneurs, accelerators, and investors worldwide to promote market collaboration.
- Together with TWSE and the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Startup Terrace, NDC participated in SWITCH, and Taiwan Tech Solution Day was organized by Taiwan's national startup brand, Startup Island TAIWAN, and Sunrise Medium, showcasing Taiwan's innovative technology and services.
- Utilize Taiwan as a technology intersection and invite Taiwan's innovative entrepreneurs with rich market experience to share their experiences with the SWITCH attendees to increase the international visibility of Taiwan's tech innovations. The forum enhanced matchmaking opportunities for Taiwan's companies.
Can Taiwan contribute to the Southeast Asian market?
- The forum was divided into three sessions. Session 1 invited FunNow and OrionGo to share their experiences using 5G and data to connect life and create a business model that combines convenience and innovation.
- FunNow is a lifestyle service booking platform focusing on instant booking services, including restaurants, nail salons, movie tickets, and other entertainment. The platform includes restaurants, nail salons, movie tickets, etc. You can quickly find entertainment around you by opening the APP and booking 15 minutes in advance. - OrionGo is a software innovation specializing in location-based algorithms, which can be used in smart factories, hospitals, and airports to record the locations and routes of production line personnel or to assist in disaster prevention and guidance in chemical plants, as well as in cooperation with airports to assist in the location-based navigation of passengers.
- Session 2 invited Turn Cloud, TWSE, and Gogolook to share examples of digital transformation and integration of capital markets and the opportunities to transfer successful cases to the Southeast Asian market.
- Turn Cloud helps retailers in digital transformation, starting from department stores, shopping centers, mass merchandisers, and supermarket chains, integrating online and offline systems and creating an OMO ecosystem that integrates virtual and real and has been successfully listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) this year.
- Gogolook is dedicated to solving the global digital fraud problem. Formerly known as Whoscall, the company utilizes database and AI technology, spanning digital communication, financial technology, and risk management SaaS to help manage criminal, credit, and fraud risks.
- Session 3 converged on security in digital transformation, discussing how to achieve information security to prevent potential online and offline risks while introducing AI and digital technology, and invited CyCraft and Tron Future Tech to be the panelists.
- CyCraft provides various information security solutions that utilize AI to analyze threat information, conduct automated case investigations, and mark attack scenarios to improve the response efficiency and accuracy of information security teams and strengthen the resilience of corporate information security.
- Tron Future Tech develops drone radar and satellite communication, which can form a 360-degree defense system to assist airports and offshore wind farms in drone monitoring. Air defense radar can also be used in the national defense industry to help protect national security.
What is the future?
- Mr. Tung Chen-Yuan, Representative of Taipei Representative Office in Singapore, shared that Taiwan has robust hardware and software strength in the ICT industry, and with the government's support for the startup, semiconductor, innovative healthcare, renewable energy, and biomedical technologies can flourish. We welcome partners from all walks of life to collaborate with us in Taiwan.
- Allen John Ku, Director of Startup Island TAIWAN, mentioned that Taiwan is in the center of Asia, and many famous brands set up their R&D labs here. In recent years, Taiwan's startups have slowly entered the international arena, and we hope to join hands with more international partners in areas such as smart cities, 5G countries, and climate change to bring about more impact.
- Mr. Chien Lih-Chung, President of the Taiwan Stock Exchange, also emphasized that the TWSE has set up the Taiwan Innovation Fund (TIB), which provides a simple listing process and has no restriction on the use of proceeds and welcomes domestic and foreign investors to participate in the fund actively.
Taiwan traveled across the sea to Singapore for the SWITCH exhibition, inviting six forward-looking startups to participate in the conference, sharing how to utilize digital technology to solve market pain points and how the TWSE, as the country's economic indicator, would assist and push the Taiwan team to a higher point.
